Expanded clinical services

CVS HealthHUB goes above and beyond the essential services of the embedded MinuteClinic with a wider array of clinical services, including support for certain chronic conditions such as diabetes monitoring, obstructive sleep apnea, and women's health services.

Care concierge

The care concierge helps visitors navigate services, products, benefits and coverage, as well as resources from other service providers, supporting them every step of the way.

Pharmacy

Specially trained pharmacists can help answer questions about medications, administer vaccinations and close care gaps by connecting people to care management programs. Pharmacists can also provide ongoing support for certain chronic conditions.

Durable medical equipment

A larger in-store space has been dedicated to new durable medical equipment and supplies such as bluetooth-enabled glucometers and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines.

Wellnessrooms

At certain locations wellness rooms are available for group events, including health classes, nutritional seminars and benefits education, serving as a resource for the community.

Health & wellness products

There is an expanded range of health and wellness products to provide sleep support and more — from nutritional supplements and fitness products to aromatherapy and natural personal care items.

Connected data

Enables earlier interventions with an analytic engine that identifies and prioritizes specific communication based on medical, pharmacy and lab data, as well as EMR integration with providers.

Enhanced pharmacist functions

The role of the pharmacist at CVS HealthHUB locations has been expanded. In addition to filling prescriptions, they are trained to close gaps in care and provide individuals with guidance, support and education. They offer services that include:

How it works

Mike has been feeling tired. He has type 2 diabetes and knows he should keep a closer eye on his levels, but he’s been busy and just assumed that his fatigue was work related.

After a particularly bad day of adverse glucose levels, he calls his doctor after hours, who suggests he go to an urgent care or ER for a quick checkup.

Mike stops by a CVS HealthHUB to pick up his prescription. While filling his order, the pharmacist notes that the advanced analytics in the system identified Mike as high risk.

The pharmacist has his A1C tested. They discover that Mike’s A1C levels are elevated.

The results are immediately sent to his doctor, who calls in a new prescription to better adjust his levels.

The pharmacist also recommended additional screenings based on Mike’s history, including a DRE eye screening.

Because of the data-driven care he receives, Mike avoids serious complications of high blood sugar levels, like heart disease, stroke, vision loss or kidney disease.
